Arizona Sustainability Alliance Teams Up with Premier Phoenix Businesses for Earth Week Celebration
April 25, 2024
Phoenix, AZ: The Arizona Sustainability Alliance (AZSA) hosted its 5th Annual Conservation Invasion event at the Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center located within the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area on April 26 from 07:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., partnering with Edward Jones, SRP, Amazon, ASM, APS, Wells Fargo, and Hydro Fabrication Phoenix.
Over 150+ corporate and community volunteers joined us in engaging in hands-on activities, including planting 44 trees and 110 pollinators, and removing over one ton of invasive plant species and debris from over ten acres of land. The event also featured educational talks on the splendor of the area and AZSA’s ongoing projects. Our guest speakers presented the importance of planting trees, pollinators, and removing invasive species in desert ecosystems. We are proud to have made a positive impact on the environment and to have educated our volunteers on the importance of preserving our natural habitats.
“ASM has been in Arizona since the ‘70s and we are committed to continuing to invest here. This includes protecting our environment and natural resources and, especially, supporting the local organizations who make conservation their mission. ASM is thrilled about our multi-year partnership with The Arizona Sustainability Alliance and the hands-on volunteer opportunities our people can participate in,” said John Golightly, Vice President, Global Head of Sustainability, Climate, Global Environmental Health & Safety at ASM.
Arizona Sustainability Alliance’s CEO, Orlando Cazarez, emphasized the significance of this event and invited everyone to join us and learn more about our ongoing projects while contributing to the betterment of our ecosystem. “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Edward Jones, SRP, Amazon, ASM, APS, Wells Fargo, and Hydro to promote conservation in our community. At this year’s Conservation Invasion, we will take action to make a difference, not just for the environment, but also for corporations. Let’s come together and make a positive impact!”
